Public meeting scheduled for statewide bicycle system plan

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is developing a Statewide Bicycle System Plan to identify a statewide system of bicycle routes, improve existing facilities, and refine its bicycle planning practices. A public meeting on MnDOT’s Statewide Bicycle System Plan will be held on Thursday, May 8, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Duluth City Hall. The public meeting is to help guide MnDOT in making bicycling a safe, convenient and accessible transportation option.

There are three ways to contribute:

• Option 1: Structured workshop from 4 – 6 p.m. Participants are asked to arrive on time and plan to stay for the entire two hours.

• Option 2: Community open house from 6 – 7 p.m. Participants can share their comments and come and go as they please.

• Option 3: Participate online at www.mndot.gov/bike.

Children’s activities are included at the workshop and open house events.

Public input, insights and ideas will also help MnDOT more effectively address the needs of bicycle riders in Minnesota.
