The Australian subsidiary of New Zealand dairy giant, Fonterra Australia has claimed 61 awards at the 2014 Dairy Industry Association of Australia (DIAA) Australian Dairy Product Awards.
The processor took home 12 gold awards for products including Riverina Fresh milk which is made in Wagga Wagga NSW, and its Tamar Valley no added sugar yoghurt and mild cheddar which is made in Stanhope, Victoria.
Chris Diaz, operations manager at Fonterra said that the awards confirm the high quality of Fonterra’s products across its ten manufacturing sites.
“We are extremely proud of the exceptional products made at Fonterra sites across the country, and it is fantastic that our dairy products and brands are being recognised for their outstanding quality and taste,” said Diaz.
“These awards are testament to the exceptional dairy knowledge at Fonterra and the dedication and expertise of our employees. I would also like to thank our farmers who produce such high-quality milk that goes into these award winning products.”
Last month Fonterra was also named one of McDonald’s “2014 Best of Sustainable Supply” award winners for its ‘doing more with dairy program which helps farmer suppliers in Australia become more profitable through more efficient use of high impact inputs such as water, energy and fertilisers.
