Reflexology – you will never know unless you try it!

An experienced reflexology practitioner can sense your medical issues by feeling the tension, energy and resistance in certain areas of your feet.

These specific areas, called pressure points, have been known to ancient holistic health practitioners in China and India for thousands of years. They relate to our nervous system and the flow of vital life force energy around our body. Our feet are a reflection of our complete physiological system, as each pressure point represents an organ or function of our body. This makes scientific sense too, as the nerves that transmit messages through our bodies end in our feet.

The reflexologist presses and rubs specific areas of your feet helping the nervous system, blood flow and energy flow to the areas each point is associated with. This can help you feel a sense of wellbeing throughout your whole body.

It may be worth giving reflexology a try, even if you do feel skeptical at first!  Most people feel extremely relaxed and rejuvenated after a good reflexology massage from a qualified practitioner. After a session of 40 minutes or so, you can feel a sense of complete wellness and balance from this complementary therapy.

You should always tell your therapist if you have any specific medical conditions – especially if you have heart problems or have had surgery recently. Please bear in mind that you should not take a reflexology massage if you are pregnant, or if you have internal or external bleeding.
