Up until recently it was commonly believed that pregnancy brain would morph into baby brain after birth and that ladies with kids would experience a general decline in the overall memory retention. Not that this ever really concerned many people, what’s a bit of short term memory loss when you’ve just had a baby after all?
In a study not taken too long ago, it turns out that this theory couldn’t have been more wrong. That’s right, it’s all hogwash. It turns out that ladies who’ve had kids actually have better memories than those who’ve not. That imagine of ‘super mum’ knowing all, seeing all and being totally on the ball, may not be so far from the truth as it turns out!
The study which has made these claims was based on a very small set of test subjects from a very narrow ethic set of people. To actually prove the point they’re trying to make they’ll need to expand the testing set and make sure it involves mothers of all races, colours and creeds. This is something which they’re planning to do and hopefully before we know it there’ll be definitive prove that mum really does know everything.
