Life, The Spiritual Journey

Do you believe in the soul? I don’t mean the religious ideal of a soul I mean the idea that we’re separate from our minds and our bodies, that there’s something emphatically other about which science and medicine simply do not have the capability to explain. Part of life is realising that we do not know everything and we never will, it’s a big old universe and it’s always going to be. Just because we know our little planet pretty well doesn’t mean we know anything else. In the words of a great philosopher, the first step on the road to knowledge is accepting we know nothing.

It can be incredibly beneficial to be in tune with your deeper and more spiritual self and if you don’t think you have one then letting one develop could be a great way to improve your level of well-being. It’ll allow you to detach somewhat from the world and let you get to know you. And we’re not just piles of meat and mind put on the world to toil endlessly, if you let yourself you can be so much more. You can open yourself up to experience and really learn what it can mean to be human.
We’re lucky to be here and we’re lucky to be where we are. If it’s all chance then we need to make the most of it and if it’s some sort of divine plan then we need to prove that the faith put in us wasn’t misplaced. Never lose your sense of wonder and never forget that you’re on a learning journey and no matter how old or wise you become, you’ll never know it all. Live your life with an open mind and an open heart and all sorts of wonderful things can happen.
