Breast Cancer and when to get the Doc Involved

There are so many maladies and illnesses that we need to be on the look out for today that it can be a bit difficult to keep track of them all. You want to stay healthy but if you went in to see your doctor about every little thing you’d never get anything done and for the most part, any aches and pains are probably just you getting older right? This could well be true and there certainly is a great deal we should be looking for but the important thing to remember is that if you’re worries about something then you need to see a doctor for your own piece of mind if nothing else. Hypochondria is only a negative thing until it saves your life.

In terms of breast cancer it can be a bit of an issue for ladies. It’s a scary prospect and there’s a slash and burn mentality taking over at the moment. A lot of ladies are simply having their breasts removed in the hope of eliminating any chance of contracting the disease at all. This is possibly because of the upsurge of celebrities doing the same thing and can certainly be effective but it’s a massive over-treatment for most patients.

Here’s a short list of issues which should be brought to your Doctor when you notice them:

–                    Bloody or pus-filled discharge from nipples

–                    Redness of breasts, fever or anything else which suggests infections

–                    Breasts are swollen and hard shortly after giving birth

–                    Persistent pain in the breast with no obvious cause

–                    Lumps which hurt and don’t diminish after your menstruate.

At the end of the day, it’s always better to be safe than sorry especially when it comes to your health. Just having piece of mind after speaking to your Doctor should be enough to get you to their surgery! You’ll never forgive yourself if you don’t go in and it turns out it’s important!
