ALBERT LEA, Minn. – If you are having a tough time deciding on where to take your next weekend camping trip, there is a new tool to help.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has launched a new tool on their website called “Park Finder.”
It allows you to pick and choose what amenities you want to have for your camping trip and narrows down which locations have them.
“A lot of people have their favorite state park, they go every year, maybe they’ve got a hand full of state parks they go every year, but we also have a lot of folks that maybe haven’t visited state parks or maybe they want to try something new where they haven’t been before and this is just a really neat way,” said Jerry Katzenmeyer, Park Manager for Myre-Big Island State Park.
If you are looking for a swimming beach, bike trail or whatever, in a couple of clicks you will have your answer.
“It’s good news because it makes it easy for potential visitors to be able to find us and that’s something that’s always a good thing because if people get frustrated trying to find something, quite often they’ll go do something else,” Katzenmeyer said.
He said he is expecting another good summer of camping and other activities at Myre-Big Island.
