LOS ANGELES – UCLA senior rower Meaghan Volker has earned first-team Pocock All-America accolades, as announced Monday by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
Volker was honored as a second-team All-America selection as a junior in 2013.
After having transferred to UCLA in the fall of 2012 from the University of Tasmania in Australia, Volker was an instrumental part of UCLA’s success in the varsity eight in 2013 and 2014. She helped the Bruins secured ninth-place and 12th-place finishes at NCAA Championships in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Earlier this month, Volker was honored as a CRCA first-team All-West Region selection.
Volker rowed in the Bruins’ varsity eight crew as a senior in 2014. Among the varsity eight crew’s highlights this year included three first-place finishes in two days at the Clemson Invitational (April 19-20) and a fifth-place finish in the San Diego Crew Classic’s Grand Final race (April 6).
This season’s Pocock All-America list includes 22 first-team selections and 22 second-team selections.
