Cancer is a disease which most people will have been affected by, be it through a family member or they themselves suffering from the condition there are very few in the world today who’ve not experienced the cruelty of cancer first hand. The tricky thing with cancer is that there are over 200 types of it and each requires a different kind of treatment, as such an overall cure for the condition is an immense undertaking and though a lot of progress has been made in the field a sure-fire cure isn’t something we’re going to see in the next few years.
Melanoma is a type of skin cancer which can form from moles or simply on the skin. People with fair skin are especially at risk of melanoma but people who’re constantly exposed to the sun without protection are in a high risk group, just like those who use tanning beds. Any abnormal discolouring of the skin, generally a darkening or an actual growth, could be melanoma and you should get these checked as soon as possible by your doctor especially if you’re in one of the high-risk groups.
