A bystander was seriously wounded in a shooting early Saturday outside the Casino Royal at 7007 E. Harry, police say.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was hit in the left thigh as two other men fired guns after a private party at the club between Woodlawn and Rock Road at about 2:30 a.m., police Sgt. Ron Hunt said Saturday. The man was in critical condition at the time, he said. Police are looking for the two men who were shooting, he said.

The victim’s girlfriend, 20, also was injured when she tried to get in a pickup truck that was taking the man to the hospital. She fell and hit her head on the street and was knocked unconscious, Hunt said. She also was taken to the hospital; her condition was unknown.

More than 100 people were around the club after the private party was closed down about 2:15 a.m., Hunt said. A bouncer who called police said that patrons were upset that the party had ended, and one man pulled out a gun and started firing toward the south, Hunt said. Then another man pulled out a gun and started firing toward the first man, the bouncer told police.

A car owned by a 21-year-old man was struck several times by gunfire.

Hunt asked anyone who has any information about the incident to call 911.
