“Jazzy” it wasn’t, but Ohio State legend Kenny Guiton struck pay dirt in his first ever Arena Football League game.
Kenny Guiton gonna Kenny Guiton – even in the Arena Football League.
After failing to string together a consistent enough week during a tryout with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, the former Ohio State backup quarterback landed in the Arena Football League with the expansion LA KISS. The KISS, as you likely guessed, are owned by Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the legendary band of the same name.
With nearly 11,000 fans in attendance in the Honda Center in Anaheim (appropriately enough the home of the NHL’s Ducks), the KISS got off a more than two month schneid to defeat the Portland Thunder, 69-61. And the score above, a two-yard rush by Guiton, was just one of a number which proved difference makers for the home team.
Heading into the month of June, the KISS were 2-8. Since signing Kenny G? 1-1.
There are no coincidences.
