Young Driver AMR, Kristian Poulsen, Nicki Thiim, David Heinemeier Hansson and Aston Martin won the GTE-Am class of the 24 hours of Le Mans. The success in the most iconic endurance race of the world is the biggest success for Young Driver AMR yet. The Aston Martin Racing entered Young Driver AMR-Aston Martin Vantage took the class lead at 00:42 hours early Sunday morning and maintained that lead until the finish of the race at 15:00 hour.
After 334 laps, Kristian Poulsen brought the Aston Martin to the finish line and took the class victory. The GTE-Am class was the biggest class at this years 24h of Le Mans with 18 entries overall. The Young Driver AMR-Aston Martin was the fourth quickest GT car in the race and the highest placed Aston Martin.
“It’s hard to find any words for this and it’s almost impossible to describe our emotion”, Young Driver AMR Team principal Jan Struve. “Everybody now’s what we have been through in the past 12 month, now we went through every emotion one can think of.
