ISLAMABAD, June 16 (Xinhua) — Iran has reportedly agreed to send its national team to play a five-match series of Kabaddi ( wrestling) in Pakistan in August this year, officials said on Monday.
The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) secretary, Muhammad Sarwar, said the Iranian authorities had responded to Pakistan’s invitation positively and they would send their national team to Pakistan for the series.
The Asian style series would be held at the Pakistan Sports Complex in capital Islamabad in August, the official said.
“The dates for the matches are yet to be finalized, as soon as we decide we shall send the schedule of the event to Iran for their final consent,” said Sarwar.
The secretary said all the matches will be held in Islamabad due to some managerial issues.
In a recent series which was concluded in Iran last week, Pakistan lost the five-match series against the host by a margin of 3-2.
