Diabetes Masking Menopause Makes for Mysterious Maladies

Type two diabetes is a chronic condition which requires lifestyle changes and careful observation to control, it’s not something which is just going to go away and it’s not something which is going to be miraculously cured. Once the lifestyle changes have been made and more importantly, once they’ve become the norm, the condition becomes much easier to manage and as such type two diabetics shouldn’t have to worry too much about not doing the things they want.

For type two diabetics the condition becomes a way of life and may become very much second nature. This can be a little dangerous as expecting certain things of it, certain symptoms or sensations can lead to diabetics ignoring symptoms which could be caused by any number of things because they just assume they’re diabetes. A blood-glucose level test should be done when a strange symptom occurs and if the levels are out of whack then the chances are the symptom is related to diabetes, if it’s not then you should take action depending on how bad it happens to be.
One condition which can have its symptoms ignored as those of diabetes is menopause. Things like dizziness or hot flushes can be blames on low blood sugar and the diabetics in question will treat that and ignore what’s otherwise going on in their body’s. Excessively altering their blood sugar levels can exacerbate a diabetics condition as they’re treating a problem which was never in the first place. This is why we say, take a blood-glucose test and if in doubt consult your GP.

Diabetes complicates things and sufferers have to be more vigilant in all aspects of their lives, especially when it comes to their physical wellbeing, they don’t always have the luxury of waiting and seeing as diabetes can be deadly when mistreated.
