My younger self wanted to be a vet so he’d be disappointed but he was also an irritating brat so what does it matter? I do what I love and it makes me happy. That’s all we can strive for at the end of the day, everyone wants to be happy and most people in the world today deserve to be. Happiness is something which is quite hard to achieve though as it’s not as simple as not being unhappy.
Dissatisfaction is one of the main causes of unhappiness. You’re not entirely unhappy but this, right now, isn’t what you want. It’s not how you envisioned your life and it’s not what you wanted to be. It’s very difficult to be satisfied in general simply because of the ‘grass is greener’ mentality which is hardwired into most of our brains. We want what we can’t have and what other people have always looks better.
The truth of the matter is that we’re all in pretty much the same boat and even the most confident looking person will be filled with the same inner-issues that you will.
You have to find your own satisfaction in life and decide what it is that you’re looking for. You’ll never be satisfied or happy if you don’t know what it is that you actually want. How can you be? You’ll never have what you want if you don’t know that you want it.
Chances are you’ll take a hard look at yourself and realise that actually, you want what you already have and then the satisfaction and happiness will crash over you like a wave. If this isn’t the case then never fear, you can always find and attain what you want from life. It might take more effort or more work but who can put a price on happiness?
