There is no definitive cause for asthma. There are all sorts of probable exacerbates, which help to bring the condition about in the first place but there’s no direct root which scientists have been able to trace as of yet. One thing which has recently been revealed is that, contrary to what was believed for a long time being born very small doesn’t make it more likely for you to get asthma early in your life. So, underweight babies are at no more of a health risk from asthma than those born at more average weights are. This’ll come as a great relief to parents everywhere; nobody wants their child born into a high risk group after all!
As far as chronic conditions go, asthma is relatively safe providing precautions are taken. As with anything which is going to stick with you for most of your life, it’s important that you ‘get to know’ your condition, you’re going to need to know what sets it off the worst, what time of year you’re most affected and just how bad it can get on your worst days. Nobody else is responsible for your health and just by taking a little extra precaution you can make sure your life is never at risk from your condition again!
