One of the best motivators in life is incentive. People work harder if they’re working towards something and this is especially true in weight loss. For some people seeing the progress that they’re making might be enough but as time goes on this might lose its excitement. It’s time to dangle that carrot on a stick in front of your eyes and urge yourself forwards once again. If there’s a food that you absolutely love but you can’t eat because of your diet then let yourself have a little. One slice of cake for a week’s abstinence from fatty foods seems like a good reward for you effort just make sure you don’t overdo it!
Small quantities of fatty foods will have much less of a detrimental effect on your health and wellbeing than huge amounts of those same foods and as such you don’t have to worry too much about them. The trick, as with so many things, is moderation. Use your favourite food as a motivator but don’t let yourself have too much of it or it loses its status as a treat and goes back to something which you have all the time. All things in moderation and moderation in abundance!
