You may have heard that excess consumption of tomatoes causes rosacea, but if you apply tomatoes externally you can actually reduce acne and suntan. If you apply a mixture of ripe tomatoes and cucumber juice to your face, the remedy will work to absorb the excess oil in your skin, help to keep it toned and to fight the bacteria that is associated with producing acne. If you want a mixture that’s a little bit sweeter, prepare and apply a paste of apple and honey to your face. This will reduce pimples and acne, make your skin healthier and rejuvenate your skin.

As acne is a result of inflammation of the skin, you can try gently rubbing your skin with ice cubes to reduce inflammation and scars. For an added acne-fighting boost, freeze green tea into ice cubes. This will give you the cooling effect you’re after, while green tea has strong properties to fight bacteria and flush out toxins. A combination of Lime water and green tea also cools the body, and this mixture works in an additional way to reduce acne; eliminating toxins from your body and purifying your skin. If you add honey to lime juice, this will likewise work to improve your skin and fight off acne-causing bacteria.

Alternately, you can apply a mixture of turmeric, sandalwood and water to your face until the paste dries, and then you simply wash it off with warm water. Red sandalwood also works well in combination with neem, haldi, saffron, tulsi and fuller’s earth or clay-like material with milk. You can cleanse your system internally with a teaspoon of amla or Indian gooseberry powder, once in the morning and once again in the evening.
