Try Self-hypnosis For Confidence

We often meet people whose confidence is sky high. They can perform activities which some of us can’t even imagine in our dreams. Contrary to these people we also find some who have such low self-esteem that they struggle to make it through the day.

All of us do go through an occasional self-doubt, but for some people, lack of self-confidence becomes ingrained in their personality leading to self-sabotage. A crippled self-confidence could be the result of past experiences of failure, unrealistic goals or negative life experiences. Self-hypnosis can change that. It is the process of putting oneself into a trance like state by autosuggestion. During this state, the mind is in a suggestible stage where by the subconscious is open to receiving suggestions or affirmations. This allows successful changes to be then seen in the conscious behaviour.

Self-hypnosis for confidence works by two laws: Law of repetition and the law of association. To improve self-confidence undertake this exercise daily:

Remember the key words “I believe in myself”.

Phrase positive suggestions as if they are already happening. Start your session in a positive mood.

Work on only one or two at a time. Keep you affirmations very simple.

Relax. Go to a quiet room and sit in a comfortable chair or couch. Do not lie down completely or you may fall asleep. Just relax and close your eyes. Take three deep breaths.

Pick the word that you find yourself relating to most physically. The physical words are: Heavy, Floating, Relaxation, Lightness, Loose, Tingling and Limp. Repeat your first physical word seven times each with your breath. Become aware of that feeling and apply that feeling to your physical body starting from your toes moving up towards your ankles and thighs. Release the tension away from your body and feel it vanish. Visualise each part of your body becoming lighter and lighter as the tension is removed. Relax your entire body from toes to head.

Pick the word that you find yourself relating to most emotionally. Choose your second emotional word from the words like Calmness, Confidence, Success, Happy, Joy, Contentment and Peace. Repeat your second word seven times and take slow, deep breaths. When you exhale, see the tension and negativity leaving in the form of dark black smoke. As you inhale, see the air returning as a bright force filled with life and energy.

Imagine and visualise. Notice that you are extremely relaxed. Now imagine that you are at the top of a staircase with 10 steps with sturdy handrails on either side. Picture every detail of this scene from the top to the bottom. Tell yourself that you are going to descend the stairs, counting each step down, starting at 10. After each number, you will feel yourself drifting further into deep relaxation. Repeat the third intellectual key word which is deep sleep 7 times. Repeat your affirmations 3 times. Imagine yourself living out your affirmation. Once you are satisfied with what you have done ascend back up the stairs, with each step you take notice yourself getting lighter as if there is a weight on your chest. Take your time getting up. Then tell yourself loudly, “Wide awake, back in the room!”

Self-hypnosis becomes more effective if it is done at the same time and same place every day for at least 21 nights continuously without any break in between. In the first session the hypnotherapist introduces the client to hypnotic state. But in case you don’t have hypnotherapist then follow these instructions and record the induction script written above in your own voice for best results.
