Curly hair is unique! Because of the twists and turns is can get fragile and delicate. And which is why it needs it’s own hair care routine! It might seem difficult to take care of curly or wavy hair, but it isn’t if done properly. All need to know is a few simple steps and process to take care of them properly. Read on to know what all things you should be doing in order to maintain the shine of your curl.

1. Skip daily shampooing

Curly hair doesn’t need to be shampooed everyday. Frequently shampooing your hair can stretch and stress the strands and make the curls dry. However, conditioner is your friend! Even if you don’t shampoo every day, make sure you apply conditioner everyday.

2. Use a shampoo that suits your hair

You shouldn’t cleanse your hairs with a harsh shampoo! Doing this can certainly cause sever damage to your hair. Use a mild shampoo suitable for your hair that will refresh your hair and scalp without stripping away too much of its natural moisture and oils.

3. Slow down the process

There is a routine  to be followed when you wash your hair. Constant rubbing, scrubbing, swirling or piling your hair on top of your head while shampooing can be disastrous for curls. Instead divide your hairs into sections and then wash it slowly. This way you can ensure that your hair is washed thoroughly and you haven’t caused any damage to it.

4. Avoid hot water

Hot water can actually be the worst decision for your hair! We know that a cold water shampoo and rinse isn’t the most luxurious hair washing option but cold water will snap the cuticles shut, which  will in turn lock in moisture and make your hair shinier and reduce the frizz.

5. Comb correctly

It’s important that you com your hair to make sure it’s tangle free. Invest in the best possible quality comb. When untangling your hair after shampooing, use a very wide-tooth comb and untangle gently, section by section! Always untangle your hair when it’s wet as it is protected with a coat of conditioner.
