ALLAHABAD: In a fresh attempt to maintain/improve capacity building among medical and paramedical staff associated with various health programmes like maternal health, child health, family planning and adolescent reproductive sexual health, the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) authorities are tracking the competency based assessment (CBA) of the staff posted at deliveries units across the district.
District programme manager (DPM-NRHM) VK Singh told TOI that NRHM officials have carried out an exercise to analysis the outcome of training sessions/programmes held for medical and paramedical staff at different level to ascertain the achievements and shortcomings.
He added that they are also finding out whether a particular health staff underwent the required training or if they attended it then what was its outcome or if more sessions would be needed.
Singh said they would also ascertain whether the health staff updated the latest advanced surgeries or medical information and if they were able to teach them the latest information/technology. This would help in filling the specialication gap to some extent, he added.
Singh said after ascertaining the competence and shortcomings of the staff, they would orgainse more result oriented training sessions and workshops to enhance capacity building in the coming years.
Under the common review mission held at Pratapgarh and Mathura, stress was laid on the quality of training which should be given to doctors, ANMs, and ASHA posted at levels 3, 2 and 1 on priority basis. Once the training gets completed, competency based assessment would be done.
