The Carolina Hurricanes hosted their St. Baldrick’s head shaving event Tuesday for the fifth straight year at the PNC Arena.
The Canes have raised more than $250,000 for cancer research over the past five years.
Some of Tuesday’s participants have been coming back year after year.
“My teacher died of pancreatic cancer,” said Jacob Halterman. “I loved her. She was wonderful. She died and so I’m doing this for her.”
This is the fifth year in a row Halterman has participated in the event.
