The 12th annual Fish ‘n Fun June 7 will feature some big names and activities from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Nancy Schraufnagel, chairperson of the event, announced that Cathy Stepp – secretary of WDNR will be attending along with Mark Aquino – South Central Regional Director, Casey Krueger – Southern Region Warden Supervisor, Bob Manwell – Southern Regional Public Affairs Director; and maybe most important as far as kids are concerned, Smokey the Bear.
In addition the WDNR will bring large wooden models of a warden’s boat which the children can climb on, as well as flash the red lights and blow the siren. They also will bring a large wooden fish so children can explore the “insides” of a fish.
“The WDNR has been hearing about this great event on Beaver Dam Lake and this year they decided to see it themselves, as well as bring some fun things for the kids,” Schraufnagel said.
The event will be held at Beaver Dam’s Edgewater Park and kick off at 9 a.m. with check-in beginning at 8 a.m.
