Two stars, one basketball court. But who brought his A-game?Brent Bach, a recent graduate and career leading scorer at Augusta High School in Augusta, Kentucky, was playing a pickup game last Saturday when he got a surprise visit from another former Augusta player – George Clooney.

The Oscar winner and Lexington native, 53, was in town for a family reunion, but at one point he headed over to a local Catholic church where Bach was playing with friends, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader.

They were happy to welcome the newly engaged film star, and he showed off some decent skills.

“He’s got an all-right jump shot, and he’s in shape,” Bach said.

Clooney went to high school with Bach’s parents, Mike and Laura, and knows the family. And despite his busy schedule of acting, directing and global activism, he has managed to keep up with his alma mater, congratulating Bach on a strong season this year.

“He told me he was proud of me and everything we did for the school and the town we represented,” Bach said.

In his senior year, Clooney averaged just 6 points a game, and the team won just one game and lost 26. Bach, who will play college basketball, averaged 31 points and led his team to a 20-12 record.

That didn’t stop Clooney from talking a little smack. “He tells me he’s still No. 1, and I’m not going to argue,” Bach said with a laugh. “He’s a really good guy.”
