Staten Island adult flag football: Richie Rainero’s arm, defense lift Pier 76

Richie Rainero threw for 427 yards and five touchdowns as Pier 76 topped Long Shots 40-16 in a 9/11 Flag Football League Diamond division game Saturday.

 

Rainero also had three sacks on defense. Matt Silverman had 172 yards receiving, a touchdown and two interceptions. Kassim Forbes added 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Brendan Tinao had a touchdown and 121 receiving yards and a touchdown for Long Shots.

 

Miles Profitt threw for 360 yards and five touchdowns as Half Baked held on for a 34-31 win over Vintage Stealth. Jay Warfield had eight catches for 141 yards and a touchdown. James Pinto added two touchdown catches for the winners. Mike Mulia threw for 423 yards with four touchdowns and Ken Munson had nine catches for 177 yards and a touchdown for Vintage Stealth.

 

Jimmy Milo threw for 337 yards and six touchdowns as Misdeal sunk Louis Cicero Jewelers 49-6. Mike Morabita had 133 yards receiving yards and three touchdowns. Rob Szymanski added two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. Drew Luisi had four interceptions.

 

Silver Division   

Steve DiNicholas threw for 389 yards and six touchdowns, two of them to Mike Imburgia, as the Gotham Rogues defeated the Average Joes 38-0. Mike Battiato had 131 yards receiving. Vin Cisternino had two interceptions and a receiving touchdown.

 

Pete Konopka threw for 306 yards and six touchdowns as the Lemon Heads topped the Chargers 37-13. James Dene led the offense with 118 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Mike Longo added two touchdowns. He also had three interceptions on defense. Steve Cordaro had 13 catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns for the Chargers.

 

Timmy O’Toole threw for 292 yards and four touchdowns as the Mandingos overcame the Wolverines 28-13. Danny Mauro had six catches for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Mike Nicoletti had eight catches for 78 yards for the Wolverines.

 

Bronze Division  

Danny Magee’s 106 yards and two receiving touchdowns from quarterback Joe Arnone were the difference as the Fighting Irish topped the Wall Street Bullies 12-9.
