Magic show at Athens library to incorporate science

Come see how magic and science are related at the Athens-Clarke County Library.
As part of the library’s Summer Reading Program, a Magic Science Show will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Kenneth Linsley will perform the show in the Multipurpose Room, which will include magic tricks created by science.

The event is part of the Summer Reading Performance Series, held each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. This year’s program is based on the theme “Fizz, Boom, READ!” and is for children up to age 11.

Linsley is the regional coordinator of the Oconee River Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center, whose mission is to promote interest, rigor and enthusiasm in science and technology instruction.

To register for the Summer Reading Program, stop by the Children’s Area or visit the library’s website at www.athenslibrary.org/srp-2014.

The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Athens-Clarke County Library.

For more information, visit the Children’s Area or call the department at (706) 613-3650, ext. 314. The Athens-Clarke County Library is located at 2025 Baxter Street.
