Exercise without Equipment Part Two

The second in my installment of quick and easy exercises you can do in the comfort of your own home which will help you shed those extra pounds! These ideas won’t cost you a penny because you can do them all without a single piece of equipment or the application to join a gym, exercising was never easier!

1.  Skater Jumps. Great for working out your lungs and your legs without putting too much stress on your knee joints, this movement will get your heart going without you needing to overexert yourself! It’s a mimic of speed skating seen on dry land and it also looks a little like ice skating, if you squint a bit… 

How To

Start with your right leg bent with your left leg bent but raised a little off the ground, a one legged squat if you will. Then, in one quick motion, jump between one leg to the other without bending or back or moving your hips too much. Once you’ve settled on the other leg do the same again and repeat for about 60 seconds or until you don’t feel like you can do any more.

 

2.  Explosive Push Ups. Great all round exercise and a fantastic way to burn fat and strengthen your core at the same time. Using the upper body to push and pull will help to define the muscles in your upper body while strengthening legs and hips, all the while not putting too much strain on either one!

How To

Start in the general push up position with your hands directly beneath your shoulders and your arms stretched out. Push your hips back and flex your knees, your head should move behind your hands. Wait a second and then explosively extend yourself, using your knees ankles and hips while also pulling with your arms. You should lower into the bottom of a push up move. Then push up and repeat!
