Weight Loss Good – Extreme Weight Loss Bad

We’ve all felt it, that urge to be different. Not so much the other to be different from others but more the sense that there’s something wrong in ourselves and the burning desire to change it. Have you noticed that this little voice is never yours? There are all sorts of factors in life which might contribute to your desire to change and generally they slip into your thoughts without you even noticing, subconsciously if you will. These desires can manifest themselves in all sorts of ways which are potentially harmful to your health and as such, knowing about them and confronting them directly is the best solution. Turning a blind eye never solved anything, after all.

One of the main ways which we’re affected by the media in particular is in our image of what ‘normal’ is. Now, for the most part we all want to be ourselves but society as a whole can be particularly cruel to certain groups of people, deeming them unhealthy or somehow wrong. Women in particular suffer from this social pressure, generally thanks to other women as in actuality men care much less than people give them credit for.
For those who know they’re overweight or obese, they know they have a problem. What they don’t need is additional pressure to change, losing weight isn’t a fast process and it requires time and commitment. Without the patience to see it through to the end you won’t succeed, unless of course you take a desperate action.
There are specialist methods which claim to help you lose weight much faster but they’re dangerous. You can actually do yourself more harm losing X amount of weight in a week than being fat would ever do. The body simply wasn’t built for that. Think how long it took you to put on the weight, it wasn’t a quick process. Well, losing weight won’t take that long but it’ll take longer than a week and more effort than any crash course.

Respect your body and respect yourself. You’ll get there, give yourself time.
