The Itrim Diet: What It Is And Why It’s So Successful!

There’s a new diet in town. It’s not like the others though, it’s not being branded and spread around by actors and ‘nutritionists’ with cheesy grins, oh no. This diet, known as Itrim has been developed by researchers from the Karolinska institute in Sweden.
In a recent study, 9000 subjects took the dietary course for a year and they all showed an average weight loss of around 24 pounds. That’s around two stone which is a fantastic achievement considering that almost everyone in the study managed to lose close to this amount!

 

The Itrim weight loss program consists of three different dietary courses, each of which is based at people who’re looking at losing weight at different speeds. The first is for those looking to lose weight very quickly, the second for those looking to lose weight quickly but maintain it and the third for people happy to be patient and work slowly towards their weight loss aims.

 

  1. A minuscule calorie diet. Around 500 calories a day which consists of meal replacements for around 6/8 weeks.
  2. A lower calorie diet of around 1200/1500 calories a day which will mix both normal food with meal replacements
  3. A calorie-restricted diet of around 1500/1800 calories a day, this uses normal food and none of the meal replacements.

 

Most of those in the trial group lose the most weight in the first three months and then showed a great ability to keep their weight stable. As one of the main failing points for people trying to lose weight is being able to lose it but not being able to keep it off, this could be great new for dieters everywhere!
