Manage your time effectively
Identify the best time of day for you to be working. Some people are early risers and others are night owls, and everything in between. Once you have established when you’re at your best you can put the toughest tasks at that time. This allows you to focus your energy and concentration and produce the best results. Also be sure to prioritise: do those tasks that need to be done, while the others can be put on the back burner.
Focus
Often when we get overwhelmed we try to take on too many things, and consequently we achieve very little. If you have too many things to do at once it leads to making mistakes – and that only furthers the stress that you feel.
Quality over quantity
Work smarter and prioritise the most important aspects of your life. Do the most important things first and properly, then the less important things can be left until last.
Don’t feel guilty
If you’re trying to balance your family, your career and your social life it can be complicated and sometimes you’ll let things slip. It’s important that you understand that you shouldn’t feel guilty – there are no right or wrong answers and that you need to do what’s right for you.
Connect with people
Talk through your concerns with friends or colleagues – it can be the perfect way to remove the burden of stress hanging over you.
