With far more options than people had 20 or 30 years before, many people are opting for small, non-invasive treatments to fend off the years and create a more youthful appearance.

The most popular treatments are non-invasive procedures such as Botox injections to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, as well as hyaluronic fillers which help to plump the skin and smooth out lines around the eyes and lips. The majority of consumers in South Africa looking for anti-ageing treatments are the middle class, who are in demand for natural looking solutions to wrinkles, lines and dull skin. These types of treatments and surgeries are a lot more common than they were in the past, with plastic surgery and surgical solutions to skincare issues more mainstream than they were just 10 years ago. The majority of consumers are women, but Allergan has noted that a growing number of people seeking anti-ageing treatments are men who want to feel more confident in their appearance.
