Would You Try Any Of These Bizarre Anti-Ageing Treatments?

Some people will do almost anything to look young. That’s why there are some very bizarre anti-ageing treatments on the market. Some may blame the youth-obsessed culture, where looking good is almost seen as more of a priority than wellness or wellbeing. Part of this is evident in the media, where women who are aged over 50 are removed from the public eye and replaced by more youthful public figures.

There are all kinds of anti-ageing creams on the market, but with such a wide variety on offer it can be difficult to work out which ones to choose. It can also seem that most of these creams are similar and don’t really have much of an effect, which is why more and more people are turning to extreme measures to keep them looking young.

According to a recent survey, for example, it was found that around 45 percent of women would be prepared to try a face mask made from a sheep’s placenta to keep them looking young. This survey asked women which of a variety of strange treatments they would be prepared to try if money were no object, and the results were surprising.

The placenta face mask was probably the most unusual item on the list, and it is made from stem cells which are harvested from the placenta of a sheep. These are reputed to boost the production of collagen, elastic fibres and glycoproteins. The process takes 75 minutes and is offered by select clinics across the UK.

In addition to the placenta facials, 41 percent of women said that they would try bee venom for anti-ageing, 39 percent said that they would try face masks made from their own blood, 38 percent would allow leeches to crawl over their face, 30 percent would try a facial made from sperm, 25 percent would try a bird poo facial and 15 percent would try a urine therapy.
