It can be really challenging, however, to eliminate gluten from your diet altogether, as it is present in so many different types of food. One of the most troubling types of foods to eliminate from your diet is desserts and puddings, which are absolutely loaded with gluten. When you eliminate gluten from your diet, you may find it really hard to walk past a bakery shop or patisserie without being able to go in and choose a nice big cream cake or baked good.
There is hope, however, as there are many, many different ways to create your own deserts that are gluten free and yet taste just as delicious as the originals. Chocolate cupcakes, for example, can be made using stevia and coconut oil to give the cakes their sweet taste, and absolutely no sugar whatsoever. With cocoa powder, peanut buter, expresso powder and vanilla, these cakes can be absolutely packed with flavour.
Angel food cake can also be made without gluten, by using cream of tartar, potato starch and rice flour for a moist, melt-in-your mouth cake. Banana loaf is another great way of having a gluten free treat as the base to this can be made entirely without flour.
