Seven simple steps to naturally whiten teeth

Few things have the same positive effect on your self-confidence as a healthy, white smile, which is why your teeth are so important.

As the old dental saying goes, you don’t have to brush all your teeth, just the ones you want to keep.

But there’s quite a bit more to have a pearly grin than just that, and sorting through all the various options on teeth whitening can be rather stressful.

That being said, we compiled a list of the most important things to consider when it comes to having naturally white, shiny and healthy teeth – both for you and your family.

Before we begin with the whole process of whitening teeth and what to do, we’d like to recommend first figuring out which toothbrush is best for you.

Some people have teeth that need special toothbrushes with specific bristles, while others don’t care.

It all depends on what you prefer and what fits you.

And, this can be done by following these steps.

Once you do, you’ll already be well on your way to having whiter and stronger teeth!

Here are seven steps to whiten your teeth naturally and a couple of other tips.

1. Find the right size for you and your kids

A smaller toothbrush has a smaller surface, thus causing you to do more work to clean and brush your teeth.

Why should you make it tougher for yourself? Plus, a small toothbrush can cause injury if you aren’t careful.

Getting a toothbrush that is too large for you is also an issue since the whole process of washing your teeth may cause pain or irritation.

The golden middle is what you should be looking for because the closer you are to it, the easier and better you’ll be able to wash your teeth.

2. Choose the right bristles

Bristle choice is important as well.

Again, there’s a difference between one type and another.

Soft bristles may not be able to scrub off the impurities and food remains on your teeth.

On the other hand, the hard ones may cause bleeding from your gums.

Keep your kid in mind as well as to prevent injury.

3. Invest in an electric toothbrush

Electric toothbrushes may have been rare in the past, but they’re definitely taking the lead nowadays.

They’re a much better alternative to traditional toothbrushes due to how easy it is for you to brush your teeth.

On top of that, they are much better oriented towards actually scrubbing off any stains from your teeth (due to the rotating brush, there’s a better chance of getting rid of all plaque and bacteria compared to regular toothbrushes).

Plus, they aren’t really expensive, so we recommend them wholeheartedly!

4. Small brush heads

And, to expand a bit on the previous topic, make sure that you use small brush heads with shorter bristles.

These will give an extra edge when brushing teeth.

Electric toothbrushes can be highly customizable so, depending on what you’re looking for, you may have to do a bit of improvement and replacement.

5. Large handles

What might seem silly to most, is usually completely natural to others.

Electric toothbrushes (and even some traditional ones) mostly come with thin handles, but these don’t give a good enough grip.

Therefore, many have turned to toothbrushes with larger handles so you can grab them and keep them inside your hand!

6. Know when to repair your toothbrush

As soon as you feel there’s not as much power in your electric toothbrush as before, you should think about replacing or repairing it.

Most commonly, the issue is down to the battery running dry, so there’s nothing to be afraid of.

Additionally, once the bristles lose shape and start feeling painful – replace your toothbrush.

Most dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every three months.

7. Additional considerations

There are some other things to consider when purchasing a toothbrush (and dealing with common issues).

For example, the price and advertisement.

There are always products which are bad and which are exceptional, and you shouldn’t settle for little when it comes to toothbrushes (especially electric ones).
