The perfect way to declutter your beauty cabinet would be to invest in more multi-tasking products. A lot of space of my top shelf is filled with separate hair and body products and truthfully are not very effective. I have been trying to take a more natural approach to Beauty lately and I thought I should make a moisturizer that can be used for my hair, body, and face. Now you're probably wondering how to do this right? Let's jump into the recipe then, shall we?
1. Aloe Vera Gel, Argan Oil, And Essential Oil
This moisturizer is perfect for all skin types! Since the base is aloe vera gel, it's non-sticky and lightweight still very hydrating. Use it as a moisturizer all over and as an overnight hair mask! Argan oil is non-comedogenic by nature, it won't clog your pores or cause acne. It helps with hydration and overall skin and hair health. Read more about the benefits of argan oil. Add a few drops of essential oil to customise your moisturiser.
Psst! The moisturizer helps with anti-aging and hair growth too…Two sticks, one stone! You will need:
Take 500 gms of the aloe vera gel in a bowl, add 2-3 tbsp of argan oil and 10 drops of essential oil. Use a hand mixer or a spoon to whip it up and that's it! Your DIY moisturizer is ready. Transfer it into an airtight container and store it away from the sunlight. You can even keep it in the fridge. If you have dry skin and hair, increase the amount of oil in the recipe to make a more hydrating moisturizer!
Here are some of the benefits of using essential oils on your skin and hair:
Tea Tree oil is anti-inflammatory, it's going to help you with acne, blemishes, dandruff and other skin infections. Lavender essential oil promotes a state of well being by calming you down and it also helps with aging. Because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidants, it heals and calms your skin and hair.
Important tip for essential oils: Never use an UNDILUTED essential oil directly on your skin. Always dilute it with a carrier oil.
