The Washington Department of Natural Resources partnered with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance to construct the new Joy Ride Trail and a rerouted Silent Swamp Trail. Another new trail project of the Bike Alliance was “Fully Rigid,” connecting Joy Ride with an existing road. See a trail map here.
Professional trail builders from the mountain-bike alliance were contracted to build the trail link, while DNR Staff and Puget SoundCorps Crews assisted with construction. Volunteers also contributed more than 3,000 hours toward the project. Construction was funded by two DNR-awarded grants through the Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program and the Nonhighway & Off-Road Vehicle Activities Program.
“We’ve recently secured two additional grants which will allow us to continue expansion toward a future trail system goal of roughly 25 miles on east Tiger Mountain,” said Sam Jarrett, DNR Snoqualmie Corridor recreation manager.
