Letter: Tourney organizer offers thanks

The Twin City Disc Golf Club held its 15th annual Ouachita River Open at the Lazarre Park Disc Golf Courses on Saturday and Sunday. A total of 91 players registered in divisions ranging from juniors (an 8-year old played) and women on up to Senior Grandmasters (a guy older than 70 played).

We had a wonderful turnout, but we could not host a tournament of this magnitude without the support of local sponsors.

So I would like to thank those that helped us: AmeriPride, Cloud 9, Waffle House of Lakeshore, Central Roofing, Car King, Ironwood Fence, Hooters, The Retro Shop, Scott’s Catfish and Seafood, 1st Choice Bailbonds, Russell-Moore Lumber, Construction Bolts of Louisiana, Mr. P’s Tees, Citizens Financial Services, Mac’s Fresh Market, Wood Electronics, Holstead’s, False River Fencing, West Monroe Parks and Recreation, Pelican State Clothing, Country Body Shop, Joe Matz, and Holstead’s.

These sponsors gave money or prizes and several others gave items that made some of the best “ditty bags” the state has seen. Thanks to all the community for their support and to the players that came out. But most of all, thanks to all of our club members that came out last week to make the course a beautiful spectacle for all involved. What a wonderful weekend we had.
