Here are 5 essential tips for great skincare that will keep yours young looking, supple and nourished.
- Wash your face thoroughly but gently at least twice a day. You need to maintain the pH balance so use fragrance-free soaps and pH-balanced cleansers and toners to remove make-up along with the grime of the day.
- Nourish your skin with lots of water, at least 8 glasses every single day. The water will keep your skin hydrated and flush out any toxins.
- Feed your skin with the vitamins it needs. Eat leafy greens, eggs and vegetables for the Vitamin A that will stop those wrinkles forming. Vitamin B, found in chicken, potatoes and watermelons among many other foods, is good for healthy skin tone. Boost the production of collagen, that essential skin protein, with vitamin C from the likes of citrus fruits, broccoli, tomatoes and cabbages.
- Use moisturiser for your face and indeed for the rest of your body daily. Your face needs different moisturisers for day and night – both will help ease dryness and maintain elasticity. Look for a day moisturiser that is also a sunscreen for added protection.
- And on that note, use sunscreen with a high SPF (sun protection factor) to protect against the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. The sun can still do damage even in winter so be very careful of your face in particular.
Follow these simple tips and you can look forward to years of young-looking, soft skin that stays wrinkle free.
