Simple Ways to Stay Younger Looking

If someone were able to bottle the elixir of eternal youth, they would be richer than Croesus. Sadly, age overtakes all of us at some point, no matter how many lotions and potions we try to keep the sands of time at bay. So, what can we realistically do to ensure we stay younger looking for longer, other than trying botox NJ?

Genes play a big part in how well a person ages. Take a look at your parents. Have they aged well? If so, as long as you take good care of yourself (see below for some useful tips), you will be in with the best possible chance of looking youthful for longer.

Quit Smoking
Smoking is guaranteed to age you more quickly than nature would. Smokers have lower eyelid bags, more wrinkles, and a sallower complexion. Smoking affects blood circulation, so your skin is starved of oxygenated blood, which supplies it with nutrients. Smoking also depletes our vitamin C reserves, so you will look grey and unhealthy. And let’s not forget the extra wrinkles around the mouth area from puffing away all day long.

Drink Plenty of Water
Water hydrates the skin and body. Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and keep your skin younger looking. You can apply all the anti-aging creams you like, but if you don’t drink enough water, it will affect your skin. Try to drink at least six glasses of fresh water a day. It really is good for you in a multitude of ways!

Avoid Vigorous Exercise
We all know exercise is good for us, but did you know that too much vigorous exercise is not so good for the skin? Some types of exercise, for example running, can cause irreparable damage to facial tissues. The continual pounding up and down leads to a loss of elasticity in the skin, which can cause sagging tissue and wrinkles. As we age, our tissues lose elasticity and plumpness. Vigorous exercise exacerbates this affect, so stick to swimming or walking instead.

Stay Out of the Sun
The sun does nothing to make you younger looking, other than give you a healthy glow. UV light causes damage to the upper and lower layers of the skin. Too much sun causes our skin to age prematurely: cue lots of fine lines and wrinkles. It isn’t just your face that’s affected, either. A sun-damaged décolletage is just as aging as a perma-tanned face. Note: tanning beds are just as bad for the skin, if not worse, so stick to fake tan if you want a bronzed look.

Be Happy
Happy people stay younger looking for longer. Regular sex and minimal stress is good for us, so if you want to stay younger looking, you need to be in a happy, secure relationship, have lots of sex, and be full of the joys of life. Otherwise, you will be frowning a lot, which causes nasty wrinkles and frown lines.

You can’t stay younger looking forever, but you can delay the process by living a healthy lifestyle!
