When you are getting ready for Diwali, you shop till you drop, get your home looking nice and carry out all kinds of other preparations, but do you prepare yourself in terms of your wellness and wellbeing? Before this major event, you should spend some time focusing on yourself to make sure that you are at your best before any celebrations. You really want to have healthy-looking glowing skin before the festivities begin, so start by making sure that you are well hydrated to keep your skin looking beautiful and moisturised.
Stay away too from heavy or fried food, as this kind of food can lead to the build-up of grease on your skin, which can cause blemishes.
Drinking water may not sound like much of a tip – in fact you may think that this is pretty intuitive, but when it comes to Diwali, people often get so busy that they forget to have regular drinks of water. You should try to avoid this by consciously drinking around 8 – 10 glasses of water per day. This will clear up your skin and give you a healthy looking glow. Dry skin often looks tired and dull. With the benefits of the water, you can also increase these by locking in the moisture with a good moisturiser.
Another option is to use a homemade face mask or pack, as a natural way to exfoliate and get smooth, toned and glowing skin. Tomato masks are best for oily skin. To make one is very simply as all you have to do is mash up a ripe tomato and then apply it to your face, leaving it on for around 20 minutes and then rinsing off with lukewarm water. For dry skin, simply mash up a ripe banana, add some honey.
