Momentum Academy Dance to audition for its competitive Hip-Hop teams

Momentum Academy Dance will have Auditions for MAD Company Competitive Hip-Hop Teams this Monday at 5 p.m. at the studio. The ages are junior and senior levels in dance. College students are encouraged to audition for College-Level Team.

 

The company teams will be under the direction of James Vassell, who has choreographed for various studios through the years for schools in the area, including Cleveland High School, Cleveland Middle School Dance Team, Lee University and others.

 

He has years of dance training, is a contemporary gospel singer who is now cutting his second CD and is a minister.

 

At MAD, he is teaching hip-hop and ballroom dancing and, starting this fall, he also coaches show choirs at various schools. The MAD Hip-Hop Company will be competing at various dance competitions thru the 2014-15 dance year.

 

Momentum Academy Dance will be holding other Company team auditions on Aug. 2 for ages 4 and up, under artistic director Carrie Kramar. Auditions will be for competitive ballet company under the direction of Alexis Ziarkowski, director of Unity Dance Troope at Lee University.

 

MAD has a variety of ballet or other genres of lyrical, jazz, musical theater or acro dance competitive dance teams.

 

MAD has produced Top award winning groups, five state championships, overall top soloists and has won four top studio awards for sportsmanship.

 

Kramar has won nine top choreography awards in the past two years while competing with her MAD Company.

 

MAD’s studio is located at 125 Inman St.
