Lakeview Shepherd Center will hold its Golden Community Luncheon June 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6690 Fleur de Lis (Community Church Unitarian Church corner of 38th) in New Orleans.
The suggested donation is $5. To make reservations, call 504.484.0885. The Hector Gallardo trio will play Cuban percussion music. The St. Paul’s women’s group will cook. People’s Health will provide a birthday cake for May/June birthdays.
The Lakeview Shepherd Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling older adults to remain vital, independent, promote positive aging and celebrate senior wisdom and talent. LSC is open five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and provides services for $15 per month.
Some of the new courses being offered are Tai Chi, gentle yoga, ballet, exercise, art, clay, bridge, mahjong, quilt making, crochet, Brazilian embroidery, conversational French, computer help, Wii bowling/golf, Card Games and cultural outings.
