StackTeck expands capacity
With manufacturing picking up in North America, many mold manufacturers are seeing a busy 2014, and the need to maintain short lead times. StackTeck, a mold manufacturer with operations in Ontario, Canada and a sales office in Mexico, announced that the company has made investments in new equipment to increase capacity and improve lead times.
Lou Dimaulo, StackTeck’s VP of Operations, stated: “We’re delighted to see our customers responding to the ever increasing range of products and services that we are offering to the industry. We have been fortunate to grow with our customers and have been awarded several multi-mold programs.”
StackTeck has doubled its hard-milling capacity in the last three years, and currently has high-speed CNC machine tools capable of reaching up to 42,000 RPM spindle speeds for greater efficiency and productivity.
“Our recent acquisition for our plate machining line includes the biggest machines in North America with grinding capacity of 1×2 meters,” said Dimaulo. “In our test facilities, we are constantly updating our machines and have recently added a new Netstal ELION 4200 to keep up with our busy test schedule.”
StackTeck has also added a weekend shift to the operations staff as a strategy to avoid lead time increases while order intake has been climbing.
“This year we are taking continuous improvement to a higher level with a new organization that enhances our ability to optimize our business processes. We are taking advantage of the latest available technology to achieve new standards in precision and productivity,” said Randy Yakimishyn, president and CEO of StackTeck.
