Axis and PCSBT are building upon a previous grant in an ongoing effort to continue to give Park City and surrounding areas’ local youth girls and young women a safe start and introduction to freestyle disciplines. The addition of snowboarding to the freeski option enhances the program outreach and gives girls of all ages and abilities a start in the freestyle disciplines and the chance to explore which of the two, freeskiing or snowboarding, they may have a passion for.

Both local Park City programs have extended histories working at and with Park City Mountain Resort, and successfully developing athletes and skills from entry to the highest levels. Both programs had representatives competing in the past 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.

The emphasis of the mini-camps will be an entry point to ski and snowboard freestyle disciplines, with a safe and fun environment for each girl to build a foundation of new skills in a supported environment as we focus on building confidence, friendships and inspiring a passion for the terrain park.

Female coaches with the knowledge to support athletes in either discipline will lead the camps. Axis and PCSBT are excited and privileged to have MC Waryas, who led the program last year, do so again this year. The energy MC and her staff bring to the camps is infectious and every camper leaves with a prize and video of their camp experience and progress.

Five separate Introductory Camps will be held during Summer 2014 and Winter 2014-15. Two summer camps will be at the Utah Olympic Park Freestyle Pool in July and August and three winter camps will held at PCMR in December, February and March.
