How Facial Exercises Could Put The Spring Back In Your Skin
Magazines, the Internet, TV adverts…the media is always offering new ways to create a more youthful appearance and turn back the years. If you search for these tips and tricks, you’ll be inundated with blogs, tutorials and online videos, all of which claim to hold the secret to younger looking skin. While surgery may be a tempting thought, there are more natural options that you can put into action to make a change to your skin’s condition.
As with your body, exercises are a great way to improve the elasticity of your skin and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. For many years, women have performed a regimen of facial movements which creates a more resilient skin. Though you may feel odd at first, you will be surprised at how quickly these exercises start to take effect. Known as vowel exercises, these movements lift the skin around the mouth and jowls to create a more streamlined appearance and tighter skin.
They are performed exactly as you would imagine – simply make the sounds of the vowels (A, E, I, O and U) and exaggerate the sounds so that you work the muscles in the face a little bit harder. Hold the sounds for around five seconds without moving your eyes or forehead so that you benefit from the exercises as much as possible. If you find it difficult not to move the rest of your face during this time, try holding your eyes and forehead in place by placing your hands on your temples, pulling back gently while you perform the sounds.
You should make the sounds of all vowels five times over and try to do them at least once a day, though preferably before bed as well to see results a little quicker. This effective and free anti-ageing trick could save you plenty of time trawling through the beauty counters looking for expensive face creams, and will leave you looking brighter and younger in no time.
