Riding tall at Queensland event
PONY CLUB: It was worth the long haul to Yeppoon for three Warwick showjumpers as they represented the Southern Pony Club Zone 21 at the state show jumping championships and equitation over the weekend.
Warwick Pony Club members Nikki Burraston and sisters Amy and Emily Bradfield had a successful weekend of competition, as they jumped their way to a number of significant placings in the prestigious event.
Amy, who was placed fourth overall for her divisions in both the show jumping and jumping equitation, said it was great to go up and perform so well. “There was some tough competition,” she said. “The three of us rode well and represented ourselves and the zone well.”
Amy’s sister Emily also had a successful weekend, placing second overall in the show jumping for her division and just outside the top 10 in the jumping equitation.
“It was a really good experience,” Emily said. “I’m really proud of my results.”
Nikki had a very successful weekend, finishing second overall in the jumping equitation for her division and third overall in the show jumping.
“Being able to compete and go up in presentations and receive a medal made me very happy,” Nikki said.
