The City Council approved water conservation measures Tuesday to ensure the community has enough water to get through the summer.
Starting May 1, residents at odd-number addresses are allowed to water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; while even-numbered addresses can use their sprinkler system Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
On Sunday, only watering dry spots is allowed for all residents.
Watering is prohibited between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Those who don’t follow the water schedule will receive a written warning and a reminder of the restrictions on the first offense.
If caught violating the restrictions a second time, the person’s irrigation water will be shut off, and the violator will have to pay a $100 fee to get it turned back on.
A third offense will have the same consequences as the second, except the fee will be $300 instead of $100.
Similar conservation measures implemented last July helped the city save 11 percent more water.
