Ocracoke/Portsmouth

Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet

Topsail Island
Sea mullet and blue fish are biting near the piers, while speckled trout can be located on the sound side. Bonitos can be found two to three miles off the shore and can be hooked with diamond jigs. Contact: East Coast Discount Tackle 910-328-1887, www.eastcoastsports.com.
Wilmington/ Wrightsville Beach
Fishermen are catching good numbers of small trout, mostly from creek mouths and deeper marsh banks, with fresh shrimp. There has still been plenty of red drum around the docks and creeks, while the topwater fishing has picked up. Southport/Sunset Beach

Falls Lake

Jordan Lake

Kerr Lake

Lake Wheeler

Shearon Harris Lake
