Who Should Win American Idol XVIII? Vote!
The Fox reality singing show wraps up another year with a face-off between two of the season’s arguably strongest performers. Their similarities end there, however. Will the student from Farmington Hills, Mich., take home the prize or will the rock band lead singer get bragging rights? TVGuide.com breaks down each finalist’s chances of winning:
Jena
Why she’ll win: We have to admit that the stealth singer has won us over, and the judges were right to make her a Wild Card choice this season. Not only does her voice have a unique quality to it, but she has also a natural, bouncy and emotional vibe on stage when she’s singing. After that straight-hair makeover, we can totally see her as a pop star.
Why she won’t win: Her youth shows in her inconsistency. Also, her vocal acrobatics and unique phrasing aren’t quite under control yet, and there are times when it just sounds like she’s mispronouncing lyrics
Caleb
Why he’ll win: The dude is a joy to watch — he’s fairly polished on stage and knows how to pump up a crowd. But beyond his performance skills, Caleb also has a very strong voice with a deceptively easy amount of control. He’s also the only finalist to never have fallen into the Bottom 3, so he’s doing something right.
Why he won’t win: Although it feels like each performance is a concert, he still often falls into the category of cover artist. Despite a few nice ballads, we have doubts about his versatility and still can’t seem to get a handle on what a Caleb song is.
When it comes down to it, it’s a battle of style. Who should America choose? Vote in the poll below:
