Type Two Diabetes and the Way of Life

Type two diabetes is an illness which needs to be taken seriously or it can have nasty consequences. For those who take it seriously and make the changes that it demands, the difference in quality of life will be minimal if not non-existent but for those who don’t and continue to live as they were before, death could be the last stop on a long and painful road. It’s not always easy to change our lives but sometimes not everything’s in our power and we have to decide if we’d rather keep living by the rules of a disease or live and die by our own rules. I’m telling you now, it’s better to make the changes and go on living.

The trick to beating type two diabetes is all in the life-style. The risk of contracting it in the first place can be minimised if you’re willing to pre-empt it. If you’re in a high risk group then start making changes early and you may never contract the illness. The changes you’ll need to make revolve around diet and exercise and it seems that all the medical advances and pills in the world can’t beat this duo in terms of curative properties.  Not only will they help you kick diabetes in its overly rotund bum, it’ll help you lessen the risk of heart disease and other heart complications too! The fact is that 3/4 type one diabetics are obese and they could have avoiding contracting the condition in the first place if they’d just started to diet a little earlier.

Exercise has some fantastic curative properties for type two diabetics in that it allows your body to lessen its insulin resistance and by doing so it makes it easier for the sugar in your blood to be broken down and absorbed by the cells in your body.

So get running and beat that diabetes!
